Risk Mitigation

What is typically called risk management is in actuality an attempt to mitigate risk or at least control or lessen the effects of risk (see Figure 2.4). Moreover, we believe that risk mitigation falls into two distinct categories. The first is risk warning, which includes a series of techniques and analytical approaches to measure the exposure of a portfolio, a position, or an entity to risky conditions. The second concerns the tools to actually reduce the level of risk or its impacts.
