Although the management of technology is largely similar among the different groups in the data business, the data produced and the management of that data exhibits important differences depending on the group (role). Data creators need to have business units to price and sell data, whereas users do not.
Users need to account for their usage, and data creators do not. Differences in both the data and how it must be managed are illustrated in Figure 2.8.
