Chapter 15

INTERVAL-VALUED TYPE 2 GMP

In chapter 14, we have reviewed myopic Type 1 reasoning which is the type of reasoning schema that is investigated and applied by most of the fuzzy researchers. In previous chapters we have treated extensively the fact that the combination of concepts generate Interval-Valued Type 2 fuzzy sets even if the input to the combination of concepts are Type 1 fuzzy set representations. We now investigate the consequences of generating Interval-Valued Type 2 reasoning even if we start out with Type 1 representation of the fuzzy sets that make up a fuzzy rule. Towards the end of this chapter, we will discuss the Interval-Valued Type 2 system modeling. As will be observed in this chapter, the break down of classical ...
