Understanding the vendor’s business

Depending on the nature of your job, you may deal with more or only a few vendors. For example, if you manage electronic resources, you may deal with a number of database vendors simultaneously; if you maintain an Integrated Library System (ILS), you may deal with an ILS vendor most of the time.
