Naming Your Proposal Document
Since most proposals will be sent digitally to your potential clients, it is important that you have a strategy for naming the proposal document. I recommend that your proposal file name contain three elements; project number, client name, and agency name.
• Project Number: The project number in your file name should match the project number used in your proposal. This number and each proposal should be tracked in a spreadsheet or accounting software.
• Client Name: The client’s name is included in the proposal file name to help you locate proposals more easily in your computer filing system. In the case of long client names you should use a reduced size name to keep your file names a bit shorter. For example, instead ...
