Dedicated resources
Slightly different from retainers, the dedicated resource structure allocates certain employees to a client for a certain period of time. Retainer structures buy hours. Dedicated resource structures buy people. This structure is usually calculated in man weeks. You work with the clients to determine how long you expect the project to take and dedicate specific employees to the task. The more man weeks the clients buy, the lower the rate they pay. (For example, if the agreement dedicates an employee for 4-to-6 man weeks, they pay $5,000 per week; for 7-to-10 weeks, they pay $4,500 per week; for 11-to-14 weeks, they pay $4,000 per week, and so on.)
