HERACLITUS OF EPHESUS
DK B1 Of this logos that holds forever men happen to be uncomprehending both before hearing and once having heard, for though everything happens according to this logos, they seem inexperienced though experiencing the words and actions I detail, distinguishing each [thing] according to nature and saying what sort it is; for other men do not notice what they do waking, just as they forget whatever [they did] sleeping. (Sextus Empiricus, Adv. Math. VII.132)
