Using the GridView class

A GridView is a ListView with a fixed number of columns, arranged left-to-right, top-to-bottom. The standard (un-themed) Android application menu is arranged like a GridView. The GridView class makes use of a ListAdapter in the exact same format as ListView. However, because of its fixed column count, a GridView is very well suited for lists of icons.

A GridView can display significantly more information on a single screen than a ListView, at the expense of not being able to show as much text information.
