This chapter introduced the concept of layers. All content in Anime Studio is placed on layers, but there are several different types of layers and each layer type holds a different type of content. Layers provide a way to organize content and to transform it. All layers are listed in the Layers palette, and this chapter also explained how to work with and access layers using the Layers palette. Within the Layer Settings dialog box are settings for renaming the layer, applying layer parameters, setting its blending mode, and specifying a masking mode. Finally, this chapter showed how the Layer tools are used to manipulate the layers.
