Project 11:
PATTERNS
Patterns are everywhere! Just glancing around my house, I'm surrounded by them: polka dot pajamas, floral throw pillows, chevron rugs, and striped curtains.
I especially love learning about the textile traditions of a country or culture. The patterns may be woven, dyed, embroidered, knitted, quilted, painted, printed, and more.
Medium: multimedia
In Ghana, you can find kente cloth—a brightly colored, geometric and striped fabric.
In Indonesia, you can find beautiful, bright batik fabrics made with a technique that uses wax to resist dye in areas of the cloth, forming colorful and decorative patterns.
