Database File Security

Physical security for an Apache Derby database is controlled through the operating system and the database startup parameters. Most operating systems will allow a form of control over the underlying files in the Apache Derby database. An Apache Derby database places all of the data and control information within a directory structure in the underlying file system. Control to the file system is then established through operating system commands, so that only specific applications or users can access the data.
