For example purposes, suppose you are interested in finding out how many jobs are currently in the QBATCH job queue. Perhaps you want to proactively monitor the job queue and notify the system operator if it is developing too large a backlog. You go to the Information Center at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries and select “Programming,” followed by “APIs,” and then “API Finder.” You can then use the “Find by Name” option to locate APIs related to job queues. Type in job queue and click Go. You will get a list of APIs that includes the words job queue in their descriptive names.
