Program to Find Files with Deleted Records

Every well-written application must be designed to clean up after itself. The odds are that files used within any application will eventually contain some deleted records. Even though they are no longer used by the application, deleted records take up disk space. Therefore, they should be purged from the file. This is generally done using the Reorganize Physical File command (RGZPFM), but “reorganizing” a file can take some time, depending on the number of records in the file. Realistically, you wouldn’t want to reorganize every file in the library; you only want to reorganize files containing a given percentage of deleted records.
