Mac Models Timeline 1998
The revised PowerBook G3 series
released in May 1998 was code-named
WallStreet.
Apple designed the $1,299 iMac as the
Internet-age “computer for the rest of us.”
Like the original NeXT Computer, the iMac
featured a radical industrial design and
lacked a built-in floppy disk drive. Unlike
the NeXT, the iMac was wildly successful.
