Goals
• Understand the requirements for OS X Server
• Perform the initial installation and configuration of OS X Server
OS X Server on Mountain Lion helps your users collaborate, communicate, share information, and access the resources they need to get their work done, whether in business or education.
To keep things simple, OS X Server is an app that runs on a Mac running Mountain Lion; if your Mac can run Mountain Lion, it can run OS X Server.
You can divide working with OS X Server into four phases:
1. Planning and installation—Plan how the server will be set up, verify and configure the hardware, and install the OS X Server software; this is covered in this lesson.
