Appendix A. Extending Your Novell eDirectory Schema

If the majority of your users are already defined in a Novell eDirectory node, you may decide to extend your eDirectory schema to provide support for attributes and object classes specifically for Apple objects.

MacEnterprise.org (http://www.macenterprise.org/) hosts detailed instructions, LDAP Data Interchange Format (LDIF) files specifically tailored for eDirectory, and a plist file for custom mappings in Directory Utility. Download the files and import the LDIFs using Novell tools. If you restrict access to objects and attributes, whether you use an LDAP proxy user or the [Public] user, grant read address to the new object classes and attributes for the appropriate user.
