Polynomial Equations

On the question of nonlinear equations and their systems, we make a distinction between the special class of polynomial equations and the general nonlinear ones. Iterative methods developed for the general case, to be elaborated in the next chapter, apply equally in all cases, with their inherent merits and limitations. For the special case of polynomial equations, we have a wealth of analytical tools to carry out in-depth analysis, that leads to improved computational efficiency at some instances, while enriching the details of the results or conclusions at others. In the present chapter, we deal with these analytical tools and techniques.
