Optimization: Introduction
A background in optimization theory is very much like eyesight. Without it, one does not even know what he/she is missing in life, and is likely to accept the haphazard probing as the way of life. With an orientation in the optimization concepts and methods already inculcated, in every walk of engineering and science, including areas such as economics and sociology, you would spot problems which are inherently optimization problems or can be formulated as such.
