Interpolation and Approximation

Ideas of representation of functions are spread throughout this book, in various contexts. The primary aim of the present chapter is to cover the important topic of interpolation in representation and manipulation of functions. We also discuss general issues related to function approximation. Finally, we consider the application of these techniques to the modelling of curves and surfaces.
