The XMLP Abstract Model
The development of protocols is difficult. This is partly because they are, by nature, abstract representations of protocols that must exist in the real world. The problem lies in the fact that humans typically gravitate toward describing abstract ideas using existing physical concepts. But for XMLP to be void of any particular implementation, an abstract model was created to define fundamental concepts that could be used in the XMLP specification.
