Although shallow-water acoustics is a well-developed area of ocean acoustics at this point in time, there are still some new topics to research. We look, in a broad-brush sense, at three of them, namely (1) canyons, the continental slope, and the shelf break; (2) arctic shallow-water acoustics; and (3) climate change effects on shallow-water acoustics.
