16. Verification of Design Capability: Hardware
Position within DFSS Flow
Verification of design capability is aligned with the Verify phase of the DFSS process, whether RADIOV, CDOV, or DMADV. Figure 16.1 is the detailed flowchart for this chapter, showing the steps and methods involved in verifying the capability of the hardware. Verification of the software aspects will be discussed in Chapter 18, which focuses on verification through software testing. With DFSS, “verification” covers both verification and validation; requirements are traceable to the VOC, and verification through capability analyses and testing the answers to the questions “Are you building the right thing?” and “Are you building the thing right?”
