As we have seen in the previous chapter, the profession of architecture is a relatively new one. While the role of the architect has been developing constantly for hundreds of years, the profession itself has only been distinct and recognized (legally) for less than a century. However, in that time the requirements and responsibilities of the architect have become increasingly complex.
