Different types of sensors

Before ending this chapter we would like to give an overview of the existing type of sensors, their communication protocols with Arduino, and the pros and cons of using them.

Sensors can be categorized into two major families (analog and digital) based on the kind of signal they provide. An analog sensor usually provides a voltage, which is proportional to the quantity it is measuring. This voltage has to be converted in a number using an ADC.
