Chapter 4. iOS Guided Rover

In this chapter, we are going to build software that can be used to control a rover robot. What's new in this? Children have been playing with radio-controlled toys for years now, and sometimes, we still play with such toys!

However, we are going to build a robot that can be controlled by iOS devices in the following three different ways:

  • Through manual commands: The two sliders on the iOS control: the rover's steering and the throttle
  • By means of the iOS device movements in space: By moving an iOS device left and right, you can control the steering, and by moving the iOS device back and forth, you can control the throttle
