Abstract

The evolution of information technology has sparked the rise of ground breaking concept of DTs. Developing a DT empowers manufacturers to simulate diverse scenarios and experiment with multiple configurations without interrupting the live production line. This capability facilitates more efficient testing and fine-tuning of production processes, leading to heightened quality control and predictive maintenance. In essence, DTs serve as a crucial component in smart production, enabling manufacturers to bolster efficiency and curtail expense. By integrating DT technology, firms can streamline the operation and upkeep of their physical systems and manufacturing processes. It plays a pivotal role in enabling the firm to achieve peak profitability and enhance shareholder value. Thus this chapter discusses the DT technologies in manufacturing.
