The Internet is here to stay. Every day, more and more web sites are added to the World Wide Web. Everyday web sites become more sophisticated. Indeed, in our Web 2.0 world, many web sites look and feel just like Windows applications. This book, ASP.NET 4 24-Hour Trainer, will teach you the skills you need to become a web developer.

There are currently two different frameworks used to develop web sites with ASP.NET 4. The first framework is referred to as the ASP.NET Web Forms framework. The ASP.NET Web Forms framework has been in use since the first version of ASP.NET was released in 2002. As such, it is well tested and quite robust. The other framework is the ASP.NET MVC framework. The ASP.NET MVC framework is much newer; it was released in 2009. Many programmers prefer the ASP.NET MVC framework because it gives them more control than traditional ASP.NET Web Forms.

This book covers ASP.NET 4 web development using both the ASP.NET Web Forms framework and the ASP.NET MVC 2 framework. As such, it is a great resource to compare and contrast the two technologies.
