Assessing the sustainability impact of any system—factory, business, institution, supply chain, industry, city, province, or country—is essential to setting a policy for sustainability. This assessment can be made by using a set of indicators, but choosing which indicators to select is not straightforward. This chapter describes the process analysis method (PAM), in which the system is considered as a group of processes causing triple bottom line impacts on the environment, the economy, and the human/social domain.
