Introduction

I am in the field of designing and evaluating technology for people with disabilities, especially for those with cognitive disabilities. Doing this, I have often drawn, particularly in early stages of a project, on the ideas that were “in the air” while in graduate school, in the Centre for Lifelong Learning and Design (L3D, 2006) at the University of Colorado at Boulder (Figure 1.1).
