I’ll be the first to admit that ASVAB AFQT For Dummies, 3rd Edition, is a great book — quite possibly the greatest book ever published (my well-known modesty aside). However, I can’t pack everything you need to know about math, vocabulary, reading, and joining the military into 384 pages. You may have to rely on some outside help.

If you need to brush up on some of your skills before taking the ASVAB and maxing out your AFQT score, reading the appropriate chapters in this book is a great place to start. But you may need or want more work in a particular subject area, or you may want to know more about the military or even the entire ASVAB. This chapter helps point you in the right direction.
