You may be an expert in all things talent development, but that is not going to ensure your success as you launch, leverage, and lead your talent development effort. In his book, The Business of Learning, David Vance (2017) says, “Be a business person first and a learning professional second. That means clearly understanding your organization’s vision, mission, strategy, and goals. Remember why your job exists. It is to help the organization achieve its goals.”
