In the introduction, I explained that it was hard to organize this book because so many things need to be done, and often they need to be done at the same time. This chapter is one of those examples.
There are several relatively new topics in our field, including curation, neuroscience, gamification, microlearning, flipped classrooms, blended learning, and MOOCs, that we need to consider. This chapter explores each of these topics separately. While they don’t have a clean relationship or flow from one to the next, they are all contemporary and deserve air time or at least a mention.
