6.3.11 Practical propagation curves
CCIR have produced several curves based on data extending over several years (CCIR, 1990c). An example extracted from this work is illustrated in Figure 6.45 giving fields for 1 kW ERP. These values are exceeded at 50% of locations for 50% of the time over land. Various heights of transmitting antenna are shown with a receiving antenna height of 10 m as usual. Terrain irregularity from 10 to 50 km from the transmitter is taken as no worse than 50 m. If the irregularity is substantially different then a correction is required.
