The wheels on a car are generally trouble-free, but there are a few things you should know about them. Wheels are usually made from steel or aluminum. They are designated by the rim size, the number of holes used to hold them on the vehicle, and by the backspace and offset measurements. Make sure you use wheels designed for your vehicle.


The rim of the wheel is a vulnerable spot and can be bent if the wheel hits a pothole or curb. A bent rim can create imbalance in the tire and may also cause vibration or prevent the tire from sealing properly.
