How to: Wash a Car

Washing your car regularly will not only keep it looking nice, it will also extend the life of the exterior.


Bug and tar remover

Soft cloths

Garden hose

Soapy water

Sponge or towels


1. Park in a shady spot.

Washing and waxing should be done out of direct sunlight, when the body of the vehicle is relatively cool. If water dries too fast, it can leave water spots that are difficult to get off.

2. Remove stuck-on residue.
