Provision Foundation Search Services

In the following sections, we will focus on provisioning SharePoint Foundation Search Services. Unlike with the majority of coverage in this book, we will turn our attention back to SharePoint's previous administration tool: STSADM.

While STSADM has been officially deprecated in SharePoint 2010, we do not have any cmdlets that allow us to manage Foundation Search. To configure this service with scripts, we will utilize the spsearch operation of STSADM.
