Chapter 12 Determination of Resource Levels for Operational Availability

Introduction

The previous chapter described the deliverables and tasks for designing and evaluating plant maintenance tasks. Because of that work, it is now possible to determine the levels of human, material, and facility resources required to achieve management’s specified operational availability (A0).

Recall that achievable availability (Aa) assumes a perfect maintenance environment. Perfection means that resources are always available and that there is maximum possible organizational effectiveness. When the decision for actual levels of resources and effectiveness are incorporated, the result is operational availability (A0).
