Getting a New Project to Edit

To better appreciate many of the bin controls, we’ll leave the dialogue scene between Sarah, Colleen, and Dan for a while, and we’ll start working with some documentary footage, which is really a great way to show off some of these more advanced Avid editing techniques. Specifically, I have included a short project called Documentary Practice. As long as you followed the steps to load this book’s media on page 10 in Chapter 1, you should now be able to go right into the Documentary Practice project (Figure 5.1). Just launch Media Composer, and when the Select a Project window opens, select the Documentary Practice project and click OK.
