Given a cloud consumption model where the entirety of goods and services belong to the cloud service provider, some conflicts may arise within a business about how to build, manage, and pay for IT infrastructure. Cloud infrastructure uses the Operational Expenses (OpEx) model, which is also known as the recurring charge model, and not a Capital Expenses (CapEx) model (buy once and depreciate over time, more common in traditional on-premises deployments).
