access control list (ACL)   A document that lists who can access a Simple Storage Service (S3) bucket or object and perform which actions (read or write). Each bucket and object has an ACL associated with it. ACLs are one of the resource-based access policy options in S3 that are used to manage access to S3 buckets and objects. ACLs also can be used to grant basic read/write permissions to other AWS accounts.

access key   Combination of an access key ID and a secret access key. You use the access key to sign API requests to AWS services.

access key ID   A unique identifier that’s part of the access key. You use an access key ID and the secret access key to sign programmatic AWS requests in an encrypted manner.
