The fields are described below in the order in which they appear in the output, from left
to right:
INFORMAT NAME or FORMAT NAME
the name of the informat or format. Informat names begin with an at-sign (@).
LENGTH
the length of the informat or format. PROC FORMAT determines the length in the
following ways:
•For character informats, the value for LENGTH is the length of the longest raw
data value on the left side of the equal sign.
•For numeric informats, the following is true:
•LENGTH is 12 if all values on the left side of the equal sign are numeric.
