137. Dealing with interruptions
Other people and their agendas – they suck the energy right out of you. But there are ways of dealing with interruptions.
It’s been one of those days. This morning I had a clear day to get on with writing this. And then it all went wrong.
I’ve taken two phone calls and been side-tracked at the school gates by a friend wanting a coffee and a chat. I’ve agreed to pick up another parent’s kid, which shouldn’t be a problem but, somehow, now it is. It’s now 12.45 pm and I’ve written 100 words. (That’s not good, by the way.)
I’m reminded of the definition of an optimist: someone who believes that today will be better than yesterday. What’s the definition of a fantasist? Someone who believes today will be better ...
