Are you familiar with terms such as isometric, sprite, and avatar? As you begin developing games, you will quickly find a high degree of specialization, with specific jargon used when talking about the games. However, it is important to have a basic understanding of these terms, and what they mean as you come across them in the book. Most of these terms are further described in later chapters, but I want to give you a preview of the main terms here.
Games use different perspectives as part of the game mechanics. Can the player see everything through the characters' eyes? From above, or the side? Each of these are classified by their point-of-view.
