11.2. Available Packaged Applications

You can go to a list of currently available packaged applications from your home for Oracle Application Express — http://otn.oracle.com/apex, the home page for APEX at the Oracle Technology Network, or from http://apex.oracle.com.

At the time of this writing, there are clusters of applications that deliver functionality grouped in the general areas of tracking and communications, as well as a number of applications that provide other types of functionality.

The tracking applications include:

• Bug Tracker: One of the most popular packaged applications. The Bug Tracker provides the ability to log and track bugs over their lifetimes, not that your applications would ever have any bugs. The application also includes a good range of reports to provide information on the status of bugs, as well as historical information on the performance of the bug fix team and its individual members, as shown in Figure 11-1.

• Issue Tracker: An application that allows users to define and track issues, as well as relate issues to specific projects. The Issue Tracker is the basis of an advanced APEX tutorial, which walks you through the creation of the application.

• Customer Tracker: A general contact manager style application, with companies, related contacts, and activities.
