Testing

After 30 plus years of enterprise application development, I’ve found that the actual application development process for programmers consists of three high-level tasks:

  • Coding
  • Testing
  • Documenting

The graph in Figure 8-1 is what I consider the ideal distribution of time for those three tasks. Yes, that’s 60% of the development time spent on testing.
