Maintaining electronic resources

The electronic resources librarian role, or ERL, is a major responsibility of the solo healthcare librarian. The e-resources life cycle involves many stages throughout the year of the subscription. Evaluating products, trials, negotiating prices, and license agreements are just part of the process before patrons can access. In addition, there is the maintenance of links to the websites, involving the Information Technology department, and any problems with access which would involve communication with the vendor/publisher.
