characteristics, activity duration, and complete daily patterns before these
media can become true sources of transportation information.
At the simplest level, agencies can use data mining of social media
to understand public perceptions and satisfaction based on polarity and
classication of posts. Looking toward the future, real-time geo-located
social media posts can be used as sensors to observe and understand the
behaviors of millions of people to model and inuence transportation sys-
tem performance.
CONCLUSIONS
Although social media will continue to evolve, its presence has already
been felt worldwide. So ...
