CHARACTER SET CONFLICTS
HTML allows you to specify only one character set (encoding) per web page. For web pages that feature only Cyrillic and ASCII characters, this is no problem: You specify Windows 1251. But there is a problem with the Tower of Babel page: At the top of the web page, the global gateway includes two characters that are not included in 1251—accented Latin characters. Compare the 1251 and 1252 character sets in Figure 3 to see the problem.
