Abstract
This chapter will explore how informal mentors and sponsors are all around us and if you are willing to seek out mentors and sponsors, you too can accelerate your career. The author is a new library director and discusses her leadership journey. She shares the impacts that formal mentorship programs, community leadership programs, and library leadership institutes have had on her career.
