So far we’ve placed a lot of emphasis on control of exposure and development and only hinted at the fact that the inherent characteristics of the materials themselves are worth serious consideration. But this is no secret; most photographers appreciate the way a favorite film or paper behaves, and they’re likely to be strongly prejudiced against certain others.
